What is a news release?
A news/press release informs the public and the media about news related to your organization or business. News is defined as information about a recent or important event. As an example, if your organization or business hires a new CEO or introduces a new product or service, you could write a news release about this event. However, if you wrote an article about what your organization does or what your business sells, this would NOT be considered a news release because it does not give information about a recent or important event.
If we feel that a release is just marketing hype it will be deleted.
Your press release should include the proverbial who, what, why, when and where that you see in all news stories. In your Title and Summary, do not use ALL CAPS or terms like 50% OFF or BIG SALE. Please do NOT use this system as a way to post releases for:
1. For sale or wanted ads.
2. Pornography or adult content
3. SPAM - more than 2 releases for the same company in one day or the same release on different days.
4. Illegal activity
5. Hateful or libelous content
6. Wealth Building schemes, cash gifting etc.
7. Payday loans, short term loans, any loans, loan settlement & refinancing.
8. Debt consolidation and settlement programs.
9. Online pharmacies and drug sales
10. Tobacco products including electronic cigarettes
11. "Replica designer" merchandise
12. WOW or AION gold farming in MMO games.
They will be rejected and your account may be suspended.
Do not submit press releases that are just marketing hype with no news value. Our readers want to hear interesting information about services, special events and other interesting newsworthy items.
